Dr. Heier practiced full-spectrum family medicine in rural Nebraska until she was called to long-term medical missions in very rural Zambia at the beginning of 2013. There, she helped start Chifundo Rural Health Center, a full-service medical facility, to meet the needs of the local Zambian population. Dr. Heier has a heart for teaching and loved hosting medical and humanitarian teams during her time in Zambia. In the future, she hopes to return with residents to educate and work alongside the Chifundo staff.
