The Sioux Falls Family Medicine Residency is always looking for passionate educators who are willing to share their skills with our resident physicians. Well-established 9-9-9 program, founded just four years after our specialty was born. We have over 350 graduates; 80% practice in South Dakota or bordering states (40% of South Dakota’s family physicians are our alumni). Two-thirds of recent graduates entered rural practice.
Joining a faculty of wide-ranging and diverse interests, you will have the opportunity to practice full-spectrum care, develop new skills, and pursue your own special interests. While you will maintain your personal patient panel, the majority of your time (at least 60%) will be dedicated to educational efforts of teaching, mentoring, curricular innovation, scholarship, and administration.
Affiliated with the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, you will have an academic appointment at the school. The residency is sponsored by the Center for Family Medicine, a not-for-profit educational corporation that is financially supported by both Avera Health and Sanford Health. Our educational program and activities are highly valued and strongly supported by the local healthcare community.
